In celebration of artist Paul Darrow’s birthday and Halloween, the Darrow family would like to invite you to experience what was hidden beneath his staircase….

An interesting portfolio of work was found; ink drawings, etchings, lithographs from earlier times with unexpected subject matter. 

The art will be displayed in the condition as found.

DARROW + FRIENDS EXHIBITION | January 2021

Exhibition of art and design from influential and important Southern California Artists will take place Friday, December 18, 2020 through Saturday, January 30, 2021 at OBJCT Gallery’s satellite location in Claremont’s Historic Packing House, Open Saturday’s 12-4 and Sunday’s 12-3 or by appointment (contact David Shearer: ds@objct.com or (909) 270-7703).  

After January 30th the exhibition will move to OBJCT Gallery located at 1308 Monte Vista Ave. Unit #8 Upland, CA 91786 in College Business Park. Please call (909) 270 -7703 to make an appointment.

The Exhibition will include some never seen before early works as well as more recent work from the home and studios of Paul and Nadine Darrow.  Select pieces from the Darrow’s private collection will also be offered for sale including early furniture pieces by master craftsman Sam Maloof.  Also shown will be a collection of artworks including ceramic pieces and paintings by Paul and Nadine’s friends such as Karl Benjamin, Aldo Casanova, Tony Delap, Jim Hueter, Roger Kuntz, Doug McClellan, Harrison McIntosh, Paul Soldner, and Sueo Serisawa. 

Noted Artist, Paul Darrow, was a significant contributor to the art scene in Southern California, from the mid to latter part of the Twentieth Century.  He was part of the cadre of artists who were led by impresario and figurehead Millard Sheets who created what some have called the “Claremont School”, a collective of artists who worked in many media, as well as taught at the Claremont Colleges and worked at the Sheets Studio located in Claremont, CA.
